Short answer: a logo can cost nothing with a free logo maker or tens of thousands of dollars with a branding agency. Most small businesses pay somewhere in between for a custom design. At Logo Makers Pro, custom logo packages cost from $29 to $599, depending on how many concepts, designers and extras you want.
The price on its own tells you very little, though. Two $100 logos can be completely different deals once you look at the files you receive, the revisions included and whether you actually own the design. This guide walks through the options, what changes the price and what to check before you pay.
Logo design cost at a glance
| Option | Rough price range | What you usually get | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Logo maker app | Free to about $100 | A template-based design. Others may use the same icon, and vector files or exclusive rights can cost extra. | Testing an idea before you invest |
| Freelance marketplace | About $5 to $500 | Anything from a reused template to strong original work. Files and rights depend on the seller. | Tight budgets, if you can vet sellers |
| Independent designer | About $300 to $2,500 | One designer, some research and a few concepts, often with a personal process. | Owners who want one-to-one collaboration |
| Logo design package | $29 to $599 at Logo Makers Pro | Several original concepts from multiple designers, revisions, final files and ownership. | Startups and small businesses |
| Branding agency | About $2,500 and up, often much more | Brand strategy, a full logo system and brand guidelines. | Established companies and rebrands |

What affects the price of a logo
- Concepts and designers. More concepts from more designers gives you a wider choice of directions. This is the biggest difference between cheaper and pricier packages.
- Revisions. A fixed number of revisions keeps the price down. Unlimited revisions cost more but mean you are never stuck with something you don't love.
- File formats. JPEG and PNG files are fine on screen. Signs, vehicle wraps and embroidery need vector files (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF), which some cheap options charge extra for.
- Ownership. With a custom logo you should own the final design outright. Template logos often come with a license instead, which can limit what you can do with them.
- Complexity. Mascots, detailed illustrations, 3D and animated logos take longer to make, so they cost more than a wordmark or simple icon.
- Extras. Business cards, letterheads, social media graphics and brand guidelines add to the price, but cost less bundled than ordered one by one.
- Turnaround. Some designers charge rush fees. Our packages deliver first concepts within 24 to 72 hours at no extra cost.

Most customers choose Silver or Gold. Silver is the lowest price with unlimited revisions and every file format. Gold doubles the concepts and adds business card, letterhead and envelope designs. Logo Basic is a good way to start, but it delivers JPEG files only, so upgrade if you need signs or printing.
Hidden costs to check before you pay
- Vector files sold separately. If the price only includes a PNG, ask what the AI, EPS or SVG files cost. You will need them as soon as you order a sign.
- Paying per revision. A low price with paid revisions can end up costing more than a package with unlimited changes.
- Licenses instead of ownership. Check that you get full rights to the final design, not just permission to use it.
- Reused templates. A logo built from a stock icon can look like a competitor's and is usually hard to register as a trademark.
- Trademark registration. No logo price includes it. Registering your logo means paying official filing fees per class of goods or services, plus any attorney fees.
How to get the most from your logo budget
- Write a short brief: what you do, who your customers are and three words that describe your brand.
- Collect three to five logos you like, and a couple you don’t, so designers can see your taste quickly.
- List everywhere the logo will appear, from your website to your van, so the design works in all of those places.
- Choose a package by how many directions you want to compare, not just by price.
- Give clear, combined feedback on each round. It gets you to the final logo faster.

Is a cheap logo worth it?
A low price is not a problem in itself. What matters is whether the logo is original, whether you get vector files and whether you own it. A $29 logo that ticks those boxes is a better deal than a $300 one that doesn’t. As your business grows you can always invest in a fuller brand identity, building on a logo you already own.
